The Graduate School of Economics at University of Hyogo is committed to high quality teaching and research in a friendly academic environment. The School aims to produce researchers and specialists who have an in-depth expertise of a particular area of economics, while engaged in creative and original research in economics.
An essential feature of the Graduate School of Economics is the close relationship between students and supervisors. Teaching methods combine formal lectures and small seminars. Size of all those classes is small and students have a lot of opportunities to discuss various research topics. Supervisors and students meet regularly and consult closely to accomplish the thesis.
Members of our School are engaged in research across a range of economics including international economics, economic development, industrial organization, labour economics, economic policy, regional economics, environmental economics and so. While much of the research is in applied areas, we emphasise the importance to base on sound theoretical foundations as well as quantitative techniques. We emphasise the practical application of economics to various social and economic issues.
